Frequently Asked Questions

Sonido Rhythm Entertainment understands that you may have a few questions regarding your event and our company practices. Here is a list of our most frequently asked questions.

How soon before my affair should I book my DJ?

As soon as you schedule your catering hall, it is advised to begin your search for a DJ. This is typically done between 12-15 months prior to your function. Similar to catering halls, DJ's have busy seasons as well so please schedule accordingly.

Can your entertainment company provide a written contract and references from previous clients?

All Sonido Rhythm events are confirmed by a signed contract. As for references, we are more than happy and able to provide you with the names of many of our very satisfied clients.

Is your entertainment company insured?

Yes, Sonido Rhythm Entertainment is fully insured and we can provide your catering hall with a copy of our insurance certificate upon request.

Will you be on time for my reception?

Yes. In fact, we will be early. We will arrive approximately 60-90 minutes prior to your affair to complete our set up.

How will your DJs be dressed for the occasion?

All of our DJ's and MC's are tuxedo/suit attired for all formal occasions and appropriately dressed for non-formal events.

Do you travel outside the New York City area?

Yes we do. Even though we are primarily based in New York, we have performed at many events outside the tri-state area such as Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Miami, Houston, and Los Angeles. Please keep in mind that travel fees do apply and are based upon the location of your event.

What type of music will be played at my function?

For all events a Sonido Rhythm coordinator will meet with you in order to discuss and review all aspects of your function. We know that each event is unique and as such each event is customized based upon your personal style and needs. We provide a form that allows you to list your favorite songs and even songs which you do not care to have played. Our professional DJ's will use these forms as well as their own professional experience and judgment in order to select the perfect combination of music to be played at your function.

Should I tip the DJ?

It is customary to tip your waitstaff, photographer, videographer and DJ/Band. However, whether you do or not is up to your own discretion.
